Description: Northwest UAV builds small, specialized engines for specific unmanned systems applications. The Project Manager accomplishes strategic objectives by overseeing multiple project activities. They are responsible for developing status reports, assessing project issues and risks/risks and developing resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. They will also develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem-solving with engineers, managers, and customers. The Project Manager serves as the liaison between clients, vendors, employees, and executives to align business goals and ensure cohesive relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with customers and Business Development teams to fully understand the scope and requests of the project at hand.
- Excellent leadership skills aligned with the company’s values.
- Work closely with multi-functional teams on bill of materials (BOM) design and budget forecasting. Collaborate with other Project Managers to aid in the development of their projects and completion of deliverables.
- Aid Business Development and engineering staff in analyzing project risks.
- Develop project plans and proposals and manage other project management tools.
- Interface with vendors for outsourced custom and commercially available parts.
- Ensure all deliverables fulfilled are executed safely, professionally and on schedule.
- Adhere to AS9100 standards and regulations as administered by Quality Assurance/Quality Control.
- Collaborate with engineering department personnel to revise, implement and adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with engineering personnel to drive the adoption of and compliance with standardized project management and software tools.
- Other duties as assigned by the manager or owner of NWUAV.
Skills, Experience, and Aptitude:
- Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree.
- Knowledge of business systems, including Earned Value Management, Risk and Opportunity Management, and Contract Management such as Firm Fixed Price.
- A background in project management, program management, engineering, cost account management (CAM), and/or business management related functions.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, time management, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in understanding and utilizing all written materials available in reference to the project at hand.
- Highly developed written and oral communication skills and be able to work well with people at all levels within the company as well as customers and vendors.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s level degree such as an MBA.
- PMP certification.
- Working knowledge and understanding of standard industry project and program management tools such as Jira.
- Experience with Microsoft Project.
- Experience working to AS9100 standards or similar quality management.
- Knowledge of business systems, including Earned Value Management, Risk and Opportunity Management, and Contract Management.
- Experience in the military/aviation sector is highly desirable.
Essential Functions of the Job:
- Safely lift and carry heavy objects with the help of another person if necessary.
- Ability to work well independently and following strict adherence to deadlines.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position throughout the day alternating sitting and standing as necessary.
- Perform repetitive movement such as pushing, pulling, bending, some twisting and stooping.
- Perform fine hand manipulation including handling small and large objects.
- Ability to communicate clearly and be positive, polite, and cooperative with co-workers, managers, customers and vendors.
